Rustlers Defeat Trojans

Central Wyoming advances to play Western Nebraska

Nov. 6, 2019, Sterling, Colo. — The Central Wyoming College (CWC) Rustlers and the Trinidad State Junior College (TSJC) Trojans faced off in a play-in game for the Region IX tournament. The winner advances to play the Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC) Cougars, and the loser heads home.

In the first, the Rustlers jumped out to 13-4 lead over the Trojans. The Rustlers remained aggressive and won the first set 25-17. The second set was looking to mirror the first, but the Trojans hung in and chipped away at their deficit. In the end however, CWC was able to neck it out and won 25-20. In the third and final set, CWC took some time to get their wheels rolling, but rallied late and defeated TSJC 25-16.

With that win, Central Wyoming advances to the tournament and will face the WNCC Cougars at 7:00 pm.
