McCook Indians Stay Alive with Win Over Laramie County Golden Eagles

McCook Wins in Four Over Laramie County

Nov. 7,  2019, Sterling, Colo. — The second day of regional play began featuring the McCook Community College Indians and the Laramie County Golden Eagles who both lost their first round match ups in the Winner's Bracket and are now competing in the Contender's Bracket. McCook won the match 23-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-19.

Sets one and two were tight as each team edged out the other with a two point win.  In the third set, McCook took advantage of Laramie County's errors and found themselves winning 25-20.  Laramie county forged an early four point lead to start the fourth set behind strong defense and pin offense. McCook then ran off four straight points out of their timeout to tie it up at 8 all.  Both teams traded points until the Indians took a small advantage at 20-18.  Following a LCCC timeout, McCook ran off three straight points behind strong outside hitting. Laramie County won the serve back, but couldn't capitalize. At 21-19, McCook sided out and then finished the match on another run to win 25-19.

Laramie County's season comes to an end with this loss and McCook advances to the 12:00 pm game as they face the loser of the 6 pm match that features  Western Nebraska Community College and Otero.
