Bio

Coach Vernon Harbart reclaimed the head golf coach for Northeastern Junior College in the fall of 2012 after previously being the head men’s golf coach in the 1998-1999 season.

Prior to coaching for Northeastern, Harbart was the Head Golf Professional at the Sterling Country Club from 1988-1998.  In 1998, he became the head men’s golf coach where they competed and became the Region IX Team Champions and participated in the National Tournament.

In 1999, Northeastern would drop their golf programs, so Harbart would then become the head golf professional at Fort Morgan Golf Course from 1999-2009.  During that time, he would be the assistant golf coach for the Fort Morgan boy’s team from 1999-2004 and then become the head coach in 2004, where he would stay until 2008.  Upon being the golf professional at Fort Morgan, Harbart would become the head golf professional and general manager at Northeastern 18 Golf Course in 2010-2016.  While working as the golf professional, he would hold the title as the men’s head coach in 2012, which he still holds today.

In the fall of 2013, Northeastern would add women’s golf, and Harbart would take on the role as head coach for both teams.  As a head coach for the teams, he would coach the men’s Region IX individual champion in the 2013-2014 season, who would participate in the national tournament.

Coach Harbart became a PGA Member in 1991 and he still holds that to this date.
