Plainsmen Earn Postseason Honors

May 9, 2019, Sterling, Colo. — Six Northeastern baseball players earned postseason honors this year. Davyn Adamscheck, Jaxon Rosencranz, and Dylan Norsen all were named first team all-conference. Receiving second team all-conference was Carter Allen, Ben Newton, and Juan Esparza

Adamscheck is a sophomore who played infield for the Plainsmen. In two years, he played in 87 games and accumlated 93 hits, 54 RBI's, and 44 stolen bases. Rosencranz is also a sophomore who had had an outstanding sophomore season. In his sophomore year, he had a .377 batting average with 57 hits, 57 RBI's, and 10 home runs. Norsen is a sophomore that came to Northeastern this year. In his one year, he accumulated 25 RBI's and 32 hits off 117 at bats, giving him a .368 batting average. 

Allen was a vital part of the Plainsmen setting the school record in stolen bases as he stole 36 himself. In addition to baserunning, Allen accumulated 62 hits, 22 RBI's, and 54 runs in his time as a Plainsmen. Ben Newton played catcher for Northeastern and played in 90 games in his two years as a Plainsmen. He accumulated a .314 batting average with 80 hits, 63 RBI's, and 12 stolen bases. Juan Esparza was the lone freshman for the Plainsmen, but he earned his spot for his pitching. in 15 appearances, he earned four wins and zero losses. In 27.1 innings pitched, he only gace up 20 hits, with 28 strikeouts, and finished with a 2.66 earned run average. 

The Plainsmen are currently at the Region IX tournament looking to win their first Region IX title since 2013.
