Zach Boone Gets Region IX Player of the Week

Sterling, Colo...

Northeastern's 6'1" sophomore Zach Boone got the Region IX Player of the Week nod as he had a solid week of the season at the plate.  Boone comes to NJC from Larkspur, Colorado and plays the outfield position for the Plainsmen.  During the past week of the 2022 regular season for the Plainsmen, they played four conference games at Luna Community College in New Mexico.  This is the fourth Plainsmen to receive the Region IX Player of the Week award this season.

During the week, Boone played all 4 games Northeastern competed in during the weekend stretch.  In those games, Zach went to the plate 12 times, got a hit in 8 of those at bats and scored 7 times.  Those 8 hits included 3 doubles, 3 homeruns and 7 RBI's.  Big time batting rewarded Boone with a .667 batting average during the stretch.  Overall this season, Boone has a .365 batting average, .423 on-base percentage and a .859 slugging percentage.  Northeastern went 2-2 over the 4-game stretch with Boone's high level of play.

Northeastern needs players like Zach to continue the big play as the season progresses to give the team a threat in the lineup in which other teams will have to be aware of.

Congrats to NJC infield player Zach Boone on being named Player of the Week for Region IX!  Keep up the great work!

The Plainsmen next take on Southeast Community College in Nebraska on Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend.
