Game Recap Plainsmen vs. Miles City CC - 2/19

Max Valerio would not be denied at the plate on Sunday, picking up four hits and leading Northeastern Junior College Plainsmento a 22-12 win over Miles City CC. Valerio homered in the first, singled in the second, singled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.  Bats blistered as Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen collected 19 hits and Miles City CC tallied ten in the high-scoring game.  Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen opened up an early lead in the first inning when Ryan Kucy's sac fly scored one run for Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen.  Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Tomas Ricny homered on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs.  Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen put up five runs in the sixth inning. Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen's big bats in the inning were led by singles by Ty Large and Valerio and a home run by Ricny.

Evan Hurlburt earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen. The bulldog allowed four hits and two runs over three and a third innings, striking out five. Hayden Nerwin threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.  Jermey Gee took the loss for Miles City CC. The pitcher allowed 12 hits and 12 runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one.  Edyn Barber started the game for Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen. Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen knocked in six runs in the second on its way to an 11-5 victory over Miles City CC on Sunday. Josh CoteAmar Mahmood, and Wynn Drewes each had RBIs in the big inning.  Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen opened up scoring in the second inning, when Cote hit a solo homer.  Brian Walters got the win for Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen. The ace went four and a third innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out eight. Ryan Jones threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

#35 took the loss for Miles City CC. The bulldog surrendered six runs on five hits over four innings, striking out three and walking one.  Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen launched two home runs on the day. Cote went for the long ball in the second inning. Drewes had a homer in the second inning.  Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen totaled ten hits. Tomas RicnyCote, and Mahmood all had multiple hits for Northeastern Junior College PlainsmenRicny led Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen with three hits in four at bats.  Miles City CC racked up seven hits in the game. Kameron Kostial and Wyatt Searcy each collected multiple hits for Miles City CC.

Despite seeing its four-run lead whittled down by the end, Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen still held off Miles City CC for a 6-5 victory on Monday. Miles City CC scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by #19 and a by Jones.  Miles City CC scored three runs in the seventh inning, but Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen still managed to pull out the victory. Miles City CC batters contributing to the big inning included #19 and Jones, all knocking in runs in the inning.  Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen got things moving in the first inning. Jackson Trout drove in two when Trout homered.  Nick Anaya was the winning pitcher for Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen. The hurler surrendered zero runs on one hit over two innings, striking out two. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Trent SchumacherCreed MartinJeffrey Behrends, and Tomas Ricny all securing outs and ultimately the victory. Behrends recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen.

Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen lost the lead late in a 10-6 defeat to Miles City CC on Monday. The game was tied at six with Miles City CC batting in the top of the eighth when #1 singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.  Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen lost despite out-hitting Miles City CC nine to eight.  In the second inning, Miles City CC got their offense started when Jaedon Jordahl singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.  Miles City CC evened things up at six in the top of the seventh inning. An error scored one run for Miles City CC.  Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen scored three runs in the fourth inning. Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen put the pressure on, lead by an error on a ball put in play by Ty Large and a double by Jackson Trout.  #22 got the win for Miles City CC. undefined surrendered zero runs on one hit over two innings, striking out two and walking zero. #33 and #27 entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Clay Sanger took the loss for Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen. The hurler allowed one hit and two runs over one-third of an inning.  #31 started the game for Miles City CC.
