Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen stayed in it until the end, but McCook CC pulled away late in an 18-8 victory on Saturday. The game was tied at five with McCook CC batting in the top of the sixth when Descartes tripled on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs. Despite the loss, Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen did collect seven hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, McCook CC had 13 hits on the way to victory. Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen fired up the offense in the second inning. Ryan Kucy was hit by a pitch, driving in a run. The Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen struggled to contain the high-powered offense of McCook CC, giving up ten runs. McCook CC pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning.
