Jackson Doty Drives in 6 To Lead Northeastern Past Luna Community College In Game 2 17-1

Jackson Doty drove in six runs on three hits to lead Northeastern past Luna Community College in Game 2 on Saturday 17-1. Doty hit a home runs to left field in the seventh inning scoring three, tripled in the fifth inning scoring two, and singled in the second scoring one. Northeastern flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring seven runs on eight hits to take a 7-1 lead. The biggestblow in the inning was a single by Wynn Drewes that drove in two. The Plainsmen scored six runs on five hits in the top of the fifth inning. Amar Mahmood tripled, scoring one run, Josh Moore doubled, scoring one run, Cade Owens hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run, and Doty tripled, scoring two runs. Northeastern scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning on a home runs to left field by Doty. Cole Jones earned the win for the Plainsmen. The righty allowed five hits and one run over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Mitchell Sambirsky and Kiichi Sekihara each came on in relief for Northeastern. The Plainsmen amassed 19 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Drewes led Norhteastern with four hits in five at bats. Mahmood, James Nolan, Moore, Lane Snow, and Anthony Porras each collected multiple hits for Northeastern. The Plainsmen ran wild on the base paths, amassing three stolen bases for the game. Northeastern once again did not commit a single error, Porras had the most chances with nine.
