Northeastern Takes A Convincing Victory Over Luna Community College 10-2

James Nolan drove in four runs on three hits to lead Northeastern past Luna Community College 10-2 in Game 3 of the weekend series. Nolan doubled in the second inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the third inning, scoring one run. The bottom of the luneup was strong for Northeastern. Nolan, Josh Moore, and Luke Byler combined for six of the team's seven hits in their victory. They scored two runs and drove in seven. A double by Nolan gave the Plainsmen the lead, 3-1 in the top of the second. Northeastern extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third to RBI singles by Moore and Nolan. Edyn Barber led things off on the mound for the Plainsmen. The righty gave up four hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out nine and walking none. Cam Ochoa threw one and two-thirds inngs of scoreless ball in relief. The righty surrendered zero hits, striking out three and walking one. Moore collected two hits for Northeastern. Lane Snow paced Northeastern with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. The Plainsmen also ran wild on the base paths, collecting three stolen bases.
