Northeastern Earns The Series Sweep Over Luna Community College After Winning Game 4 8-5 On Sunday

Northeastern beat Luna Community College 8-5 in Game 4 of the weekend series on Sunday. The Plainsmen got on the board in the top of the first inning after Jackson Doty hit into a fielder's choice, Lane Snow doubled, and Josh Moore hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. Northeastern scored two more runs in the top of the third on a home run to center field by Kelden Hastings on an 0-2 count. James Harbison earned the win for the Plainsmen. The lefty surrendered one hit and zero runs over four and two-third innings, striking out three and walking two. Drew Haferkamp collected the save. Creed Martin, Evan Gail, and Matt Yarish each appeared in relief for the Plainsmen. The Plainsmen accumulated 10 hits in the game. Moore and Snow were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Northeastern while hitting back-to-back. Hastings went 1-4 at the plate the right-handed hitter led the team with two runs batted in. Anthony Porras led Northeastern with two walks. Overall, the team had a good eye at the plate, as they amassed seven walks in the contest. Snow stole two bases. The team ran wild collecting a total of five stolen bases. The Plainsmen are back in action again on Friday April 19th at 1:00 PM against Otero College at Plainsmen Park.
