Plainsmen Open Season with a Win

Nov. 2, 2018, Sterling, Colo. – The first game of the season always sets the tone for the rest of the season. The Plainsmen played host to the Lamar JV Lopes and were able to defeat them by over 50 points. The Plainsmen turned up the intensity early in the game and sustained it throughout both halves. After the initial tip, Northeastern initiated the game plan and took the 9-0 lead. The Plainsmen kept pouring on the points until halftime, leading by a significant margin. 

In the second half, the Plainsmen regrouped and toned down their plan a little and worked on execution. Although the Plainsmen were working on their offense, they did not hesitate on extending their lead. The men continued to score until the final buzzer sounded and walked away with the 109-55 victory. 

The Plainsmen will be back in action at home this Saturday, Nov. 3 as they host the Colorado Northwestern Spartans.
