Men’s Basketball Competes in Utah

Nov. 26, 2018, Sterling, Colo. — The Plainsmen basketball team traveled to Salt Lake over the weekend to play in the Salt Lake Invitational, to face the Salt Lake Community College Bruins and the Snow College Badgers. Both teams were great programs and proved to be great competition.

In the first game against the Bruins, the Plainsmen battled in the first half and only trailed 41-32 at halftime. In the second, the men outscored Salt Lake 41-36, but could not get the ball to fall their way and lost 77-73. Nykolas Lange led in scoring with 14 points and five rebounds. Ryan Bagley, Mohamed Diallo, Terae Johnson and Relando Rodgers each had nine points.

In their second game against Snow College, the Plainsmen had a tough time scoring. In the first half, Snow was able to limit Northeastern to 16 points and led 43-16. The men were able to regroup and play much better in the second, but the first half was their demise and they fell 95-53. Terae Johnson led in scoring with 11 points and two rebounds.

The men look to get back on the winning side as they will travel to Cheyenne, Wyo. to play against the Laramie County Golden Eagles.
