In what could be the longest game in Northeastern men's basketball history, the Plainsmen battled Lamar Lopes in a 5 overtime game that resulted in a big win for 2022.  NJC was able to come back from a 19 point deficit and win the game on the Lopes home court.  A great and exciting finish to a crazy game.  Northeastern faces Western Nebraska on Saturday the 22nd in Scottsbluff at 4pm.

(Game Recap 1/18) Plainsmen vs. Lamar Community College = Win 117-109

1st Half - NJC found themselves down early as Lamar was shooting a very high percentage.  Lamar leads at halftime 37-25.

2nd Half - NJC fights its way back into the game.  End of half ended in a tie. 

5OT - NJC was able to finally control the clock and game.  Final score was in favor of NJC 117-109.

Breakdown: Northeastern couldn't contend with the hot shooting at the start of the game as Lamar made everything in sight.  With solid defense and a scoring frenzy in the second half, Northeastern was able to claw back into the game.  After missed chances to win it in the first 4 overtimes, finally in the 5th, NJC came out roaring and won the game.  Leading scorer for the Plainsmen was freshman Obi Agbim who put up 32 points.  Jared Adams was relentless with 21 points and 8 rebounds.  Latrell Jones and Rashon Barron both had double digit performances.  Plainsmen are 2-0 in Region IX South play.
