NJC Men's Basketball Goes 1-1 to Start 2023

Game Recap 1/6/23 Plainsmen vs. Lake Region – NJC win 93 – 57

1st half – NJC Started out strong and Kobe Green hit 5 out of his first 7 three pointers. NJC was 9 of 17 from the three-point line in the first half. NJC also held Lake region to 30 points in the first half.

2nd half – Second half was much more the same for NJC they continued to blister the nets and shoot well shooting 51% for the game from the three-point line hitting 14 total three pointers.

Breakdown – NJC had great shooting from Kobe Green who went 7 -12 from the three-point line and scored 24 points. They also saw Daxton Dayley go 5 of 8 from the three-point line and add 19 points. Ryan Payne got involved hitting 3-7 from the three-point line and scoring 11 points. Shaun Riley went 7 of 8 from the field and added 16 points. Malachi Greenwich came off the bench and scorched the nets going 8-12 and scoring 16. Defensively NJC was solid and worked hard and got things done shutting down the lake region attack. NJC held Lake region to 45 FG and 23 % from the three-point line.

Game Recap 1-9-23 Plainsmen vs. Casper – Casper Wins 98-81

1st half – NJC came out strong and took a quick lead then seemed to fizzle out. NJC was down by 6 at the half and couldn't really score very efficiently.

2nd half – NJC came out the second half and stayed within a couple possessions most the game. In the end Casper just out shot the Plainsmen and made it hard for the Plainsmen to mount a comeback.

Breakdown – Donta Dawson came out and kept the Plainsmen within striking distance scoring a team high 16 points. In the end Casper just out played the Plainsmen and it was too much for the Plainsmen to overcome.
