NJC Competes at Northeastern 18

The Northeastern Junior College men and women's golf team competed at the Northeastern 18 on Thursday and Friday. The men finished sixth overall as a team and the women finished third.

For the Plainsmen, Jared Clarkson and Jeremiah Velez tied for 31st. They both shot an 82 on Thursday and an 88 on Friday.

Cody Hurtado finished 37th overall. He shot a 93 on Thursday and a 91 on Friday. Bryce Bivins finished 38th. He shot an 88 on Thursday and a 99 on Friday. Kaleb Anderson finished 39th. He shot a 103 on both days.

Caitlyn Jacobs finished ninth for the Plainswomen. Jacobs shot a 96 on Thursday and a 110 on Friday. Rachel Rael finished right behind Jacobs in 10th place. Rael shot a 119 on Thursday and improved by seven strokes with a 112 on Friday.

The NJC golf team will head to Lamar this Thursday and Friday. The meet will start at 1 p.m. on Thursday, and 8 a.m. on Friday.
