Plainsmen Tame Mustangs

The Plainsmen traveled to Rock Springs, WY to play against the Western Wyoming Mustangs in recent action.  The men have been in a small slump, but this game was shaping up to be the one to break the streak.

In the opening minutes of the game, the Mustangs were able to score first, which was not a good sign for the Plainsmen as they do not like playing from behind.  In the last few games, they have had to play from behind, in which all three they have lost.  With that in the back of their minds, the guys played with more fire to get the score back to their favor.

As the clock ticked away, It was at the 20 minute mark when Dani van Steijn dished a solid pass to Paul Liagre who got the equalizer.  With the score being back to even, it was game on to see who could come away with the victory.

With the Plainsmen keeping pressure on the Mustangs, Brodie Hayes dimed one to Paul Liagre for his second goal of the game; Plainsmen lead 2-1.  The guys felt they had this one in the books, even though it was only the first half.  They knew if they kept playing their game, they would win.

In the second half, neither team was able to break pass the defense and the keepers, and the Plainsmen would eventually win 2-1.

The men will be back in action on Tuesday September 19 as they host Northwest Kansas Tech.
