Plainsmen Lasso Mavericks

Plainsmen Lasso Mavericks

The Plainsmen are coming off a quick turnaround after playing against Western Wyoming by playing at home against the Northwest Kansas Tech Mustangs.  The men are coming off a solid win against the Mustangs and wanted to add another in the win column.

As the game started it wasn't long before the Plainsmen were on the board as Joseph Godoy gave them the 1-0 lead with a sliding kick to put it past the defender.  Once the ice was broken for the men, they were able to play comfortably without trying to rush to get the lead.

As the game progressed, the men would still have the 1-0 lead going into half, but they wanted to give themselves a little more cushion knowing that they had not won a close game yet this season.

With the second half beginning, the match was a draw as both teams were unable to break through each other's defense.  As time ticked away, Josheph Godoy got his second goal to give the Plainsmen the 2-0 lead.  Not to be outdone, the Mavericks were able to get one back by scoreing one to make it a 2-1 game.  But in the 87 minute, Paul Liagre put the nail in the coffin from the pass of Koen Romme to give them the eventual win 3-1.
