Liagre Signs Division I

Paul Liagre is the second soccer athlete of the 2018 graduating class to sign on to continue his athletic and academic career. Liagre has signed a National Letter of Intent with NCAA Division 1 powerhouse Western Michigan University located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Western Michigan University won the Mid-American Conference regular season championship and made the NCAA tournament, bowing out in the sweet sixteen against Michigan State University. The Broncos finished the regular season ranked #9 in the country.

Western Michigan head coach Chad Wiseman commented on Liagre, "Paul comes to us highly recommended from Coach Groves. His work ethic, commitment as an athlete, and adaptability is something that appeals to us and fits our style of play. He excels with the ball in tight spaces, has the ability to create special moments, and score goals in a variety of ways. We look forward to welcoming Paul to Bronco Nation."

"Paul was a game changer for this program in every possible way and truly, we were lucky to have him. I am not sure where we would be at this moment without a player and personality like Paul," added Northeastern's head coach David Groves. "His natural ability, consistency as an individual, and his willingness to better himself on a daily basis has earned him this opportunity at the highest of levels. I am proud of what Paul has achieved here and will continue to achieve as he moves to his next stages as a student athlete. I look forward to watching Paul further develop himself as a Bronco."
