Escobedo Will Continue Career at Fort Hays

Mariano Escobedo is the fourth soccer athlete of the 2018 graduating class to sign on to continue his athletic and academic career by signing a National Letter of Intent with NCAA Division II powerhouse Fort Hays State University. Fort Hays competes in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, and finished the 2017 season with a 11-6-2 overall record and an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Tournament. 

Fort Hays State University Head Coach Brett Parker commented on Escobedo signing, "Mariano is a tremendous student-athlete with a professional demeanor. He is a player that can perform a number of defensive roles for us and his versatility is a welcomed addition to our group. We are excited to welcome Mariano to our squad." 

"Mariano was a major piece to our rebuilding of this program. He is a competitor, a winner, and someone who never lets you down. No matter what the role is, he undertakes it with the right attitude, dignity, and fights to do what is best for the group. He is a scholar student-athlete and his character is of the highest caliber. He was a major player for us and someone who is the cornerstone of a winning group," added Northeastern Head Coach David Groves
