Plainsmen Roll Against Raiders

Sept. 24, 2018, Sterling, Colo.— The Plainsmen soccer team is on a hot streak as of late and looked to continue it into their next games. The men have won six in a row, with four of the wins happening in overtime. Their persistence has translated into execution, which ultimately has turned into wins.

Their most recent game was against the Central Community College Raiders, a team that could have ended the Plainsmen's win streak. Central is a talented team that, if given the chance, they could sneak in a few goals and cause trouble for the Plainsmen. However, the Plainsmen knew this and kept the Raiders on their heels the entire game. The first goal came in the 36th minute when Gaetan Garcia dished one up to Jean Carre who put it in the net to take the 1-0 lead. The rest of the first half went with Northeastern having their scorning chances, but not being able to capitalize. In the second, Maurice Von Winkler scored their second and final goal of the game in the 55th minute with Carlos Morales getting the assist. The Plainsmen went on to win 2-0.

Northeastern will travel to Cheyenne, Wyo. to play the Laramie County Golden Eagles before returning home on Friday and Saturday Sept. 28 and 29 as they host Otero and Trinidad.
