NJC Men's Soccer Wins Double Overtime Nail Biter

NJC men's soccer played rival Western Nebraska CC twice in as many weeks.  On the 18th of September the Plainsmen made the trip to Scottsbluff to play the Cougars on their home turf in which the game ended in a 1-1 tie in double overtime.  This time, NJC prevailed in double overtime to beat the Cougars in a 1-0 nail biter that showed the Plainsmen had enough in the tank to beat their rivals in Sterling.  NJC finishes up their last home stand this coming Friday and Saturday as they play a pair of conference games against Trinidad State College and Otero Junior College.  Sophmore day is on Saturday in which several players will play in their last home regular season game as a Plainsmen.  Games are slated to start at 1:30pm on Friday and 3:30pm on Saturday.

1st Goal - At minute 102, midfielder Liam Milton takes a pass from Hugo Rego and fires a winning goal past Cougars goalkeeper in double overtime

Breakdown: A very defensive battle for both teams.  Not a lot of shots were taken by either team.  Dario Luca Primus was successful at the three shots he defended on goal whereas Imanal Munoz from the Cougars saved 5 of the 6 shots he defended.  WNCC had 4 yellow cards compared to 2 by the Plainsmen.
