Northeastern Wins Game 3 Against Lamar Community College, Thanks to A Strong Offensive Showing

Ayva McComas hit two home runs and drove in three as Northeastern defeated Lamar Community College 12-4 on Game 3 of the series on Saturday. McComas homered in the fourth and fifth innings. Northeastern won in part to seven runs in the fourth inning. McComas homered to center field, scoring two runs, Savannah Waldrop scored after tagging up, Ryann Eurich singled, scoring one run, Isabelle Bencivenga singled, scoring one run, Aubrey Wright tripled, scoring one run, and a steal of home scored one run. The Plainswomen jumped into the lead in the bottom of the third when Blayke Duncan singled, scoring two runs, and Bencivenga grounded out, scoring one run. Northeastern scored one run in the bottom of the fifth on a solo home run to center field by McComas. Reagan Fehringer earned the win for Northeastern. The righty surrendered seven hits and four runs over five innings, striking out two and walking two. Northeastern amassed 13 hits in the contest. Waldrop led Northeastern with three hits in three at bats. Duncan and McComas each drove in three runs. Wright and Lauren Lee each collected multiple hits for the Plainswomen. Northeastern stole three bases during the contest.
