Northeastern Wins A Gritty Ball Game Against Luna Community College 8-6 In Game 3 On Saturday

Northeastern built a six run lead in the second inning and then held off Luna Community College's charge for an 8-6 victory on Saturday. The Plainswomen got on the board in the first inning after an error scored a run. Northeastern added to their lead with five runs in the bottom of the second inning thanks to home runs by Ayva McComas and Lauren Lee. Savannah Waldrop hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the fourth inning. Reagan Fehringer earned the win for the Plainswomen. The righty pitcher allowed six hits and six runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking three. Lee and Isabelle Bencivenga were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Northeastern while hitting back to back. Lee and McComas each drove in three runs for the Plainswomen, Northeastern worked the count all day, tallying four walks.
