Northeastern Secures The Series Sweep Against Luna Community College 3-1, After Winning Game 4 On Saturday 11-9

Lauren Lee hit two home runs and drove in four as Northeastern defeated Luna Community College 11-9 on Saturday. Lee homered in the first and third innings. Northeastern came back to win despite trailing 7-3 in the second. Northeastern took the lead, 3-1 in the bottom of the first inning thanks to home runs by Ayva McComas, and Lee. Northeastern jumped back in to the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Lee homered to left field, Blayke Duncan homered to center field, and McComas doubled, each scoring two runs. The Plainswomen scored one run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to center field by Savannah Waldrop. Teagan Kehm earned the win for the Plainswomen. The righty gave up 12 hits and nine runs (eight earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two. Reagan Fehringer tossed one and one-third innings of shutout ball for Northeastern in relief. The righty allowed three hits, striking out none and walking one. The Plainswomen piled up 14 hits in the game. McComas set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Northeastern with four hits in four at bats. Waldrop  and Isabelle Bencivenga each collected multiple hits for Northeastern. The Plainswomen are back in action again on Wednesday April 3rd against McCook Community College.
