Fehringer Pitches A Shutout As The Plainswomen Collect The Game 1 Victory Over Western Nebraska Community College 9-0
Northeastern easily dispatched Western Nebraska Community College 9-0 in Game 1 of the double header. The Plainswomen opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning thanks to two home runs. Northeastern got on the board when Ayva McComas hit a solo home run to left field. Northeastern added to their lead with two runs in the bottom of the second inning thanks to home runs by Isabelle Bencivenga and Lauren Lee. Northeastern extended their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the third inning thanks to RBI doubles by Aubrey Wright and Reagan Fehringer. Fehringer earned the win for Northeastern. The righty allowed three hits and zero runs over 5 innings, striking out four and walking one. Savannah Waldrop provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Northeastern with three runs batted in. Kaylee Eyl and Bencivenga each collected two hits for Northeastern.
