Northeastern Falls to Trinidad State College in A High Scoring Affair 15-9

Lauren Lee collected three hits in four at bats, but Northeastern lost to Trinidad State College 15-9 in Game 2 of the weekend series on Saturday. Lee hit a solo home run to center field in the sixth inning, singled in the second inning, and doubled in the fourth inning. Northeastern opened up the scoring in the first after Savannah Waldrop singled, scoring one run. The Plainswomen flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring five runs on four hits to take a 6-4 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Kaylee Eyl after a 6-pitch at-bat that drove in two. Isabella Bencivenga grounded out, which helped Northeastern tie the game at seven in the top of the fourth. Northeastern scored one run in the top of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by Lee on the sixth pitch of the at-bat. Reagan Fehringer took the loss for the Plainswomen. The righty went four and two-thirds innings, allowing 14 runs (12 earned) on 11 hits, striking out two and walking five. Northeastern amassed 12 hits in the contest. Lee, Eyl, and Ayva McComas each collected three hits for Northeastern.
