Northeastern's Bats Came Alive In Game 4 Against Trinidad State College, Taking Down The Trojans 14-7

Ayva McComas hit two home runs and drove in five as Northeastern defeated Trinidad State College 14-7 in Game 4 on Sunday. McComas homered in the fourth and seventh innings. The Plainswomen captured the lead, 3-2 in the top of the third, after Ryann Eurich homered to center field, Lauren Lee doubled, and Teagan Kehm hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. A home run to center field by McComas gave Northeastern the lead, 6-5, in the top of the fourth. The Plainswomen scored two runs in the top of the sixth on a home run to center by Lee. Five more Northeastern runs crossed the plate in the seventh inning to extend the lead to 14-5. McComas homered to right field, scoring two runs, Lee homered to right field, scoring two runs, and Kaylee Eyl hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Kehm earned the win for Northeastern. The righty allowed eight hits and seven runs over seven innings, striking out nine and walking four. The Plainswomen piled up 17 hits in the game. Eurich, Isabella Bencivenga, Lee, and McComas each collected three hits for Northeastern. Lee and McComas hit multiple home runs for the Plainswomen. Lee and McComas also drove in five runs each for Northeastern. Aubrey Wright and Savannah Waldrop each collected multiple hits for Northeastern. The Plainswomen had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Kehm and Eyl led the team with two walks each. With the split today, the Plainswomen have locked thier spot in the Region IX Tournament. They will head back to Trindad on May 4th to face the Trojans for a three game series, the winner will then go on to compete in the Region IX Championship Game.
