
Northeastern Softball Takes The Come From Behind Victory In Extra Inning Against Southeast Community College 9-8
Northeastern Softball won in dramatic fashion on Friday, coming back from behind and winning in extra inning 9-8 over Southeast Community College. Tatiana Hunt was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Hunt was able to go 3-5, hitting one home run and driving in three RBIs.
Addison Steele collected three hits in four at bats for Northeastern. Steele hit a solo home run in the seventh inning, doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the eighth inning. Northeastern came back in the contest, despite being down 4-0 in the third. Northeastern scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning thanks to a home run from Hunt. The Plainswomen jumped into the lead in the seventh inning when Steele homered to center field, Hallie Waldron singled to center, and Blayke Duncan doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Northeastern was able to score two more runs in the top of the eighth inning, thanks to singles by Steele and Ryann Eurich.
Reagan Fehringer started in the circle for the Plainswomen and ended up earning the win. Fehringer went all 8 innings, giving up 7 runs (four earned) on 11 hits, striking out three and walking three. The Plainswomen had the bats on fire, as they were able to accumulate 14 hits in the contest. Hunt and Steele were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits in the contest. Duncan and Steele each drove in two runs for Northeastern. Maddie Westmoreland collected two hits in five at bats.
