The Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen played their home opener at the Bank of Colorado Event Center on Friday. They opened up their home schedule in style with an impressive 68-52 victory against Colorado Northwestern Community College. But it was a different story the following day, as NJC fell victim to Casper College, 68-57.

NJC used a strong fourth quarter to pull away from CNCC Friday. The Plainswomen outscored their opponent 22-10 in the final frame to come away with the 68-52 win.

The Plainswomen had four players reach double figures. Nicole Muragarren-Clavier led the way with 18 points and nine rebounds.

Katie Diakhaby finished with 13 points and nine rebounds. Alexis Schulte picked up a double-double, with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Coming off the bench, Coola Baudry scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds.

In Saturday's Plainswomen loss, Casper College jumped out a 27-20 lead by the end of the first quarter against NJC. They kept the pressure on the Plainswomen by outscoring NJC 15-10 in the second quarter to take a 42-30 lead into the locker room, en route to the 11-point victory.

Muragarren-Clavier led NJC with 12 points. The sophomore post player came down with five rebounds and hit two 3-pointers.

Jennae Fieldgrove chipped in with eight points. Schulte and Demitria Heard both scored seven points.

The Plainswomen are now 3-2 overall and won't be back home until Dec. 10, against McCook Community College. They'll play seven straight road games before three straight home games in December.

NJC will begin their long road trip Thursday, Nov. 17, against Snow College at Casper College. They'll be back in action Friday, Nov. 18, against Montana Western's junior varsity team at Casper College.
