Knights Dismounted by Northeastern

Knights Dismounted by Northeastern

For a non-region conference game, the Plainswomen traveled due east to play the North Platte Community College Knights.  The women were looking to build off their two home wins versus Otero and Lamar.  Being able to keep their heads held high would be easier if they could get this victory over NPCC.

The first quarter the women were able to gain a slight lead over the Knights by four points with a score of 17-14.  The second quarter was still a close game as Northeastern would not catch fire until the second half.  In the third, it was all Plainswomen as they were able to splash one after another to outscore the Knights 22-9, and now lead by a heavy margin of 55-33.  In the fourth, it was all cruise control and would eventually finish in a Northeastern victory of 79-46.

Scoring leaders would be Katie Diakhaby by having 18 points and 11 rebounds followed by Darci Finnigan having 14 points.  Also having a double-double would be Kiara McElroy having 13 points and 12 rebounds.

The women will be on the road on Saturday January 13 as they play the McCook Indians.
