Execution Leads Plainswomen To Victory

The ladies of Northeastern keep their hot streak alive with a win over the Trinidad State Trojans in a Region IX Conference game.  The Plainswomen wanted to keep working their way up the standings in Region play, and a win over TSJC will definitely help that.  With this little win streak hanging over their heads, it was the white elephant in the room, but still embraced it being there.

The first quarter would start with NJC taking a quick 11-6 lead, then finishing up the quarter by leading 19-12.  The second quarter was when the Plainswomen would get some ground over the Trojans by outscoring them 16-6 and taking the 36-18 lead going into half.  Shots were falling and solid defense was played by the ladies, and continuing that in the second half would be there staple for the victory.

In the third, the Plainswomen would give themselves an even bigger cushion by jumping to a 50-26 lead, which would help them relax and allow them to play a little less timid.  As the quarter would end, Northeastern would have the demanding lead 53-31.  In the final quarter, the Plainswomen did allow the Trojans to get a few points back, but the deed was already done and NJC would win 64-54.

The starting five would have all the points for the Plainswomen as Tashika would have 20, Taylor Knudson would have 13, Katie Diakhaby with 12, Kiara McElroy would have 11, and Darci Finnigan would end with 8.
