Cougars Roll Past Plainswomen

Western Nebraska CC came into the Bank of Colorado Event Center on Tuesday night and blew out the Plainswomen. The Cougars who are ranked #4 in the nation had no troubles as they forced several turnovers resulting in 30+ points and out rebounded NJC by 15. Northeastern plays their 2nd to last regular season game this Saturday at home against Lamar Community College. Tip off time is 2pm on the 19th and is the 1st game of the Hoops Homecoming weekend.

1st Quarter - Cougars dominate the game early. End of 1st score was 28-7 WNCC.
2nd Quarter - Low scoring quarter for both teams. Halftime score was 40-15 WNCC.
3rd Quarter - WNCC come out strong and outscores NJC by 8. End of 3rd quarter 60-27 WNCC.
4th Quarter - Evenly scoring quarter, deficit was to large to overcome. Final score ended 85-51 WNCC.
Breakdown: Several turnovers led to a large amount of points being scored by the Cougars. The bench for the Cougars outscored the Plainswomen bench by 31 points. WNCC had a smothering defense and also shot pretty well from the field. Nailea Nicholas scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds while teammate Filippa Goula scored 10 points and also grabbed 7 rebounds. Liana Gkompetzisvili put up 11 points as well in the loss. NJC shot only 30.4% from the field and recorded 29 turnovers. Northeastern was able to only get 12 offsensive rebounds to Western Nebraska's 30.
