Plainswomen Stay Triumphant, Fourth Place Finish For Plainsmen

The golf teams were on the road for their second to last tournament for the fall season as they traveled to La Junta, CO.  The Plainswomen team were a little disappointed in their second place finish after being at the top of the leaderboards in all the other tournaments and were looking to turn it around.  The Plainsmen were slowly creeping up the leaderboards, and were looking to move up another spot in this one.

The first day for the women, Caitlyn Jacobs was sitting in third place overall and wanted to squeak up a spot or two on the second day. Right behind her was Rachel Rael sitting in fourth.  As day two came along, the temperature dropped almost 10 degrees, which would prove to be a challenge for all golfers.  In the end, the Plainswomen would be the ones who could compose themselves enough and play a solid game to propel them to the top spot for the tournament.

Day one for the Plainsmen would be a decent day.  Brett Matson would be sitting in third place overall and Bradon Baxter and Logan Wood would be tied with others in seventh place.  The second day, with temperatures droping would increase almost everyone's strokes.  In the end, the Plainsmen would tie for fourth place as a team, which is good after the scores that were posted for them.

The teams will compete in their last fall tournament on October 12 and 13 in Lamar, CO.
