Tough Day on the Course for Northeastern

Tough Day on the Course for Northeastern

Oct. 8, 2018, Sterling, Colo. – The Northeastern golf teams recently traveled to La Junta, Colo. to play in Otero's tournament. Both the men and women's team have been playing well lately and were looking to shoot low scores again. Although they wanted to play well, a course can sometimes get the best of teams.

The Plainswomen played another solid two rounds, but could not place as a team as one team member was unable to post a score on day two:

For the Plainsmen, a few guys flourished and finished really well. Overall, the men finished in fifth place by shooting a 300 on day one and 301 day two:

  • Codey Smith- 12th place, 73/74
  • Brett Mattson- 12th place, 76/71
  • Sam Ostravich- 20th place, 75/77
  • Logan Wood- 23rd place, 76/79
  • Tate Higgins- 25th place, 78/79
  • Tanner Wilmes- 32nd place, 88/80

The Northeastern golf teams will have one more tournament in Lamar, Colo. before finishing their spring season.
