The Northeastern Junior College wrestling program will officially kick off their season with an "intersquad" meet on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m. When they do so, they'll have 34 wrestlers on the team.

Jorge Rodriguez and Kaelen Jones both recently committed to wrestle at NJC. Rodriguez is one of many Colorado natives that will wrestle at NJC. He hails from Thornton, where he went to school at Mountain Range. He is a two-time state champion at the 5A level. During his high school wrestling career he went 154-12.

Jones is from Florida, and qualified for the state tournament his senior year. He was a district runner-up, a county runner-up and was named all-county honorable mention. Jones will compete in the 174-pound division at NJC.

The Plainsmen's first home dual will be Saturday, Nov. 12, against Northwest Kansas Tech at 5 p.m.
