Wrestlers Finish Well at Cowboy Open

Nov. 5, 2018, Sterling, Colo.— The Plainsmen wrestling team traveled to compete in the Cowboy Open in Laramie, Wyo. this past weekend. The team was excited to have the rest of their team on the mat and get some competition under their belt. With everyone competing, it was a chance to see how each player matched up.

Overall, each of the Plainsmen wrestlers did very well. The two highlights of the tournament for the Plainsmen were Sebastian Robles and Quintel Fuchs, who each grabbed fourth in their weight divisions. Fuchs was able to battle back after falling to an opponent early in the tournament, but defeated him later in the day. When it came time to wrestle for either the third or fourth position, he wrestled the limit of six matches in a day, so had to default and get fourth overall. Robles battled each match, and in his final match was unable to get the upper hand and settled for fourth.

The Plainsmen will travel to Golden, Colo. to duel against Colorado School of Mines on Thursday, Nov. 8.
