Plainswomen Soccer Splits Region IX Games

Plainswomen Soccer Splits Region IX Games

Last week the Plainswomen soccer team headed to southern Colorado for a pair of matchups in Region IX play.  Competing on both Friday, September 10th and Saturday, September 11th, the Northeastern women's soccer team would face a couple of tough teams that are very comparable in terms of talent.  Both games would take some extra effort on the Plainswomen's part as they faced stiff competition and very hot temperatures.  Northeastern is also fighting a roster plagued with injuries in which other players would have to step up their play!  The Plainswomen move to 7-2 overall this season, and 2-1 in Region IX play.  On Wednesday, September 15th at 11am, NJC plays #10 ranked Laramie County Community College on their home pitch in Sterling.

Pueblo, Colo...

(Game Recap 9/11) Plainswomen vs. Otero College = Won 1-0

1st Goal - At minute 38, Emory Herbert steals a bad clearance shot from Otero goalkeerper, makes move and scores

Breakdown: Northeastern Plainswomen soccer had several great scoring opportunities in the first half that fell short to going in.  Lots of shots on goal, but just missed as the Rattlers defense was defiant.  With a 1-0 lead going into the second half, NJC was able to stay disciplined and organized defensively and denyed several scoring opportunities for Otero.  Again, it was a very hot day in southern Colorado.  Another clean sheet was added to the Plainswomen season.
