On Saturday, October 1st, the Plainswomen soccer team honored 11 Sophomores before the game. They continued Region 9 play with a match up against Otero College. The Plainswomen lost to Otero 1-2 and move to 4-3 in Region 9 play. Their next game against Central Wyoming has been canceled. The Plainswomen will be back on the field on Saturday, October 8th against Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs, Wyoming.

Otero Goal- At minute 22, the ball was cleared out after an attempted free kick from Otero and Layla Garcia-Moreno hit a well hit volley from outside the 18.
NJC Goal- At minute 62, Yanitza Garay evened the score from a freekick.
Otero Goal- At minute 79, Sheranda Charles dribbled past a defender and sent a cross in that deflected off a defender for Jennifer Aquino to tap in.

(Game Recap 10/8) Plainswomen vs. Western Wyoming Community College = Won 2-1
The Plainswomen traveled to Rock Springs, Wyoming to take on Western Wyoming CC on Saturday, October 8th. After a scoreless first half, the Plainswomen were able to put away two goals for a 2-1 win against the Mustangs. With Central Wyoming's forfeit yesterday, this moves the Plainswomen to 6-3 in Region 9 play. Their next match will be on Saturday, October 15th as they head to Lamar, Colorado for the last game of the season before postseason play.
NJC Goal- At minute 56, Valeria Perez passed the ball back to Yanitza Garay who shot the ball from 43 yards out over the keeper.
WWCC Goal- A few minutes later, WWCC earned a penalty kick and Tess Thoman placed it in the bottom corner.
NJC Goal- At minute 84, Leslie Serrato found Lindsey Harris in the center of the field. Harris was able to beat her defender and curl a shot in to the top corner for the game winner.
