Plainswomen swept by Colby Community College

The Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen lost a thrilling three-set match to Colby Community College this past Friday. A play here or there in each set and it may have been the Plainswomen coming away with the sweep on the road.

NJC lost the opening set 25-22. Colby Community College won the next two sets 25-23, 25-23, to complete the sweep.

Noelani Simpson led the NJC attack with 12 kills. Tori Macaluso finished the match with 10 kills. Reagan Shaffer recorded five kills. Kylee Kuntz recorded 18 assists.

Bailey Schumacher recorded a team-leading eight digs. Emily McCurley recorded seven digs and two aces. Jaedyn Lambrecht finished with six digs.

The loss snapped a mini two-game winning streak for the Plainswomen. They are now 8-13 overall and 5-5 in their last 10 games.

NJC will be on the road again on Thursday, Oct. 6, to take on Lamar Community College. The Lopes are 12-8 and have won seven of their last eight games.

The Plainswomen won't be back home until Wednesday, Oct. 12, for White Out night against Western Nebraska Community College.
