Plainswomen Joust Knights

Plainswomen Joust Knights

The Plainswomen headed east to play the North Platte CC Knights in preseason play.  The Plainswomen were anxious to be playing a familiar opponent with the Knights, and a familiar result it was.

The first set for NJC was a test for them as the Knights were able to keep up, but late in the set, the ladies were able to pull away and get the victory 25-19.  The Plainswomen were able to squeak by with that win, as they only were able to muster up seven kills off 21 attempts.

The second set was much better for the Plainswomen as 12 kills off 25 attempts for a 48% would help in their 25-14 victory.

The third set, although they dropped 26-24 to the Knights, was a moral victory as NJC was trailing 13-4, and almost came back to win it.  Their seven kills off 23 attempts did not help their cause, but a few more deflections could have been the deciding factor for the set, but ultimately could not get it and the game went to set four.

In the fourth set, the Plainswomen were able to buckle down, make proper passes and score when needed and got the victory.  Earning that victory now puts their overall record at 3-2 as they head into more Region IX play.

The spiker's next game will be on Wednesday September 6 as they travel to Torrington, WY to face off against Eastern Wyoming College.  First serve is to set off at 7pm.
