Plainswomen Open Season at Reivers Classic

Northeastern Volleyball opened their season at the Reiver Classic Tournament.  The Plainswomen went 1-3 on the weekend.

Northeastern ranked 11th in the nation beat Jefferson college 3-1 to open the tournament.  They then played Indian Hills Community College and fell 1-3.  On the second day of the tournament they pushed #4 Utah State-Eastern to five sets ultimately falling 2-3 and lost to Butler Community College 0-3.

Over the weekend, Northeastern averaged 9.44 kills per set with a .123 hitting percentage and 151 kills. The Plainswomen also produced 1.97 blocks per set and 32 total blocks. Sophomore Mayson Fago led lead the team in kills over the weekend with 47 kills over 16 sets. Returning Region IX Libero of the Year Jade Feather tallied 68 digs over the weekend. 

The Plainswomen return two starters from last year's tenth place finish at the NJCAA tournament and have added 11 new players for the 2021 fall season.   Northeastern is on the road this weekend with matches against Eastern Wyoming College and Laramie County Community College both in Cheyenne, WY.
