Bio

In January 2010, Marci Henry began as the Athletic Director at Northeastern Junior College after successfully running the Plainswomen Volleyball program since 1999.  Her administrative experience includes serving on the NJCAA Board of Directors from 2006-2015 as the Women's Region IX Director and as First Vice President for Women from 2015-18.  From August 2018 - 2021, she served as the NJCAA Senior Women’s Administrator. In 2014, Marci was inducted into the NJCAA Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame for her contributions to the sport. Her next NJCAA award came in 2016, when she was awarded the highly prestigious George E Kilian Award of Excellence, which is given to individuals dedicated to the ideals of volunteerism, achievement, service, leaders and excellence by the NJCAA National Office. In 2021, the NJCAA again honored her with the Mary Ellen Leicht Service Award.

Marci also serves on the Executive Committee for the National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators and was the President in 2017-18.  In 2015-16, she was named an NACDA Under Armour Athletic Director of the Year for her work to double the size of the athletic program she inherited, as well as, serving in national leadership roles.  She was again honored with the award in 2018-19.

Marci earned her Bachelor's Degree in 1993 from the University of Northern Colorado where she majored in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Social Science, while minoring in Sports Administration. She also attained her Master's Degree from Colorado State University in Educational Leadership.  Marci taught at Roosevelt High School and coached volleyball.  The Rough Riders qualified for the state tournament seven out of eight years under her leadership.

Henry took over the Plainswomen volleyball program in 1999.  Her teams earned numerous athletic awards including All-American, All-Region and All-Tournament Honors.  Several players also earned Academic All-American and Academic All-Region Awards.  Henry's 2003 team won the Region IX Championship and the Plainswomen finished 11th at the NJCAA National Tournament.

Marci enjoys spending time with her family, which includes husband, Mark, son, Axel and daughter, Sydney.
