Plainsmen Sweep Tetons

Plainsmen Sweep Tetons

In their final two games of the four game series against the Williston State Tetons, the Plainsmen were gearing up to try and get the four game sweep.  The day before, Northeastern gave the Tetons some light by giving up five errors in one inning and allowing them to make a comeback.  The Plainsmen, however, were able to stay cool and collective and gather the troops to get the win.  The second game was when they were really playing together and got the win by getting up enough to enforce the run rule.

The first game of this day was shaping up for the Plainsmen to be dominant again.  The day before, a few of their top pitchers were out of the rotation due to their previous games in Utah, but for this second day everyone was back.  The games would go just as the Plainsmen would have hoped and would get an early lead and keep it.  They would go on to win 11-2.

In the second game, the Tetons came out with more energy knowing that they wanted to at least get one of the games.  The Plainsmen had prepared for this, which would make it a good game.  Although WSC played better defensively to keep NJC from only having six runs, Northeastern's defense was much better by keeping the Tetons scoreless.  Northeastern would go on to win with a 6-0 shutout.

The Plainsmen will play their first Region IX Conference game at home on Saturday March 3 as they host the Otero Rattlers.
