Plainsmen Cannot Get Runs Needed In Final Innings

The Plainsmen would host the WNCC Cougars for a single game at Plainsmen Park.  The Plainsmen needed to get this win to get the tie in the overall series, which would help them in their Region IX seeding.  Each time these teams have met, it has been either team's game to win, with one or the other sneaking it out or winning handily.  With a lot on the line, the first pitch was thrown.

The game would begin with both teams scoring, but the Plainsmen would have one more and would lead 2-1.  In the fourth, WNCC would tie it at two, and then take the 3-2 lead in the fifth.  The Plainsmen would then regain the lead in the bottom of five to make it a 4-3 game.  This would be a nine-inning game, which would haunt the Plainsmen.  The Cougars would tie the game up in the eighth, then take the lead in the ninth.  The Plainsmen could not get over the four-run hump and would fall to WNCC 6-4.  Although the Cougars got the series advantage, the men are still sitting well in Region IX.

With only two game series left in the season, the Plainsmen are looking to finish strong and place themselves in the top two of Region IX.
