The Plainsmen baseball team opened conference play with a two-day, three-game series against Otero Junior College. Northeastern took game one with a solid 12-0 win, but they fell in game two 2-3 before bouncing back to a 4-0 win behind the pitching performance of freshman Evan Reynolds.
Reynolds recorded a no hitter in the third game, pitching a complete game striking out nine Rattlers and walking just one. He also garnered All Region IX Pitcher of the Week honors for his performance.
The Plainsmen are on the road this weekend against Trinidad State Junior College.
