Trey Adams Gets Region IX Player Of The Week

Sterling, Colo...

Northeastern's 6' sophomore Trey Adams got the Region IX Player of the Week nod as he had a solid week of the season at the plate.  Adams comes to NJC from Denver, Colorado and plays the infield position for the Plainsmen.  During the past week of the 2022 regular season for the Plainsmen, they played two conference teams in Western Nebraska Community College and Otero College.  This is the third Plainsmen to receive the Region IX Player of the Week award in as this season.

During the week, Adams played all 5 games Northeastern competed in during the 4-day stretch.  In those games, Trey went to the plate 17 times, got a hit in 10 of those at bats and scored 9 times.  Those 10 hits included 3 doubles, 2 homeruns (1 a walk-off) and 7 RBI's.  On top of the stellar batting, Adams was able to steal 2 bases as well during the stretch.  Big time batting rewarded Adams with a .588 batting average during the stretch, along with a .667 on-base percentage.  Overall this season, Adams has a .378 batting average, .500 on-base percentage and a .549 slugging percentage.  Northeastern went 4-1 over the 5-game stretch with Adams high level of play.

Northeastern needs players like Trey to continue the big play as the season progresses to give the team a threat in the lineup in which other teams will have to be aware of.

Congrats to NJC infield player Trey Adams on being named Player of the Week for Region IX!  Keep up the great work!

The Plainsmen next take on Luna Community College in New Mexico on Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend.
