Rattlers Strike Plainsmen

Rattlers Strike Plainsmen

The second half of the season for the Plainsmen has been rough to say the least.  There have been numerous games where the men have been right there in it, but one missed shot or turnover has made them end up on the wrong end of the spectrum.  A few more made shots and stops, the Plainsmen's record would be a completely different number.  Against the Rattlers however, the men did not have one of their best showings.

The first half for Northeastern was tough in regards to shooting.  The Plainsmen struggled and could not get the ball to fall in the goal, and would fall behind 39-25.  To date, there has been only two other games where the Plainsmen have scored under 30 points in a half, so it was an anomaly that they had the half they did.  The second half would be much better for them offensively, but would come at a price.  The Rattlers would shoot better themselves, outscoring the Plainsmen 49-34, and would defeat Northeastern 88-59.

The positive outcome of this game was that the men have rarely played the way they did in this game, and the Rattlers were able to take advantage of that.  Additionally, a few players would have a good showing.  Marcus Burwell would have 23 points and Jalen Guidry would have 12 of his own.

The Plainsmen will try and get some redemption against Lamar CC as they travel there on Friday February 9.
