Northeastern Men Narrowly Defeated by Lamar

Feb. 14, 2019, Sterling, Colo. — In their most recent road game, the Northeastern Plainsmen traveled to Lamar, Colo. to play against the Lopes in a Region IX divisional match-up. Northeastern had won their last three games and were looking to make it four against Lamar. With the potential to host playoffs still in the picture, every game mattered for the Plainsmen. 

The first half was intense between Northeastern and the Lopes with each team running their sets and executing both offensively and defensively. The Plainsmen kept the edge over Lamar at halftime by leading 33-32. The second half was another battle for the men as they tried to sustain their lead. The Lopes however took the lead over the Plainsmen and eventually won the game 59-55. 

Northeastern was led by Nykolas Lange with 15 points and four rebounds on the night. Following him was Ryan Bagley who had seven points and three rebounds. 

Northeastern will travel to Scottsbluff, Neb. to play the Western Nebraska Cougars on Saturday, Feb. 16 with tip off commencing at 4 p.m.
