Northeastern Finishes Well On Tough Course

Oct. 1, 2018, Sterling, Colo. – Heritage Hills in McCook, Neb. is known in Region IX as being one of the toughest courses in the region. Its name lives up to its landscape with rolling hills and elevated greens and tee boxes. Numerous holes on this course have blind shots, and players have to rely on their distance rather than hitting it out there and trying to see where it ends up. 

After both days concluded, the men finished in the top three by finishing in third place, which brings them closer in total points to being third overall in Region IX. Individual scores were:

The women played well and finished in second place again behind Central Wyoming. The Plainswomen did very well as they all scored in a tight group around each other. Individual scores were:

  • 4th Place Baily Kreider - 107/100
  • 5th Place Angela Cristelli - 106/106
  • 6th Place Jessica Salazar - 117/98
  • 12th Place Megan Young - 145/138

Northeastern travels to La Junta, Colo. to play in the Otero Tournament on Oct. 4 and 5.
