Plainswomen Lose Two on the Road

Plainswomen Lose Two on the Road

Dodge City, Kan...

NJC softball made one last trip to Kansas this past Sunday the 27th to play a double header in what would be their last out of conference series for the season.  After winning 6 of their last 7 games, NJC was coming into the series with some good momentum, but came up short as the bats struggled to get going.  This week, the Plainswomen head to McCook, Nebraska to play in the Region IX kickoff tournament, which will be 6 games in 3 days.  This will give Northeastern a taste of the talent that they will be facing the rest of the regular season.

(Game Recap 2/27) Plainswomen vs. Dodge City CC = Loss 4-0

Breakdown: Northeastern's Delaney Barrett pitched a complete game even though she took the loss.  Dodge City's pitcher also threw a complete game for the win.  NJC managed to only get 3 hits in 24 plate appearances, giving them a .125 game batting average.  Eden McNally, Jacquelynn Siefken and Katey Kelly all recorded a hit in the contest.  Neither team really played a great game, but slow and steady scoring from DCCC was enough to get the win.
